Children’s joy and happiness are a big part of their learning. At Bear and Bunny, we encourage them to have fun as a part of their education, with child-led activities which are adapted to their abilities and interests.
The emphasis at Bear and Bunny is to ensure that we are meeting the developmental and personal needs of all of our children. Our dedicated team of professionals encourage each and every child to fulfil their inner potential and express their natural curiosity for learning.
The early years of a child’s development only happen once in a lifetime and we believe that it's important to make every moment count! Outdoor Learning
As well as our Forest School, we also encourage outdoor learning as a part of our curriculum to support the development of healthy and active lifestyles!
We believe that it is essential for young children to spend time exploring the natural world and that doing so offers valuable opportunities for physical activity, freedom and movement, as well as promoting a sense of well-being.
As young children learn predominately through their sensory and physical experiences, it is important that they have access to safe outdoor spaces where we are able to support their learning through active movement.
Learning outside the classroom also helps children to understand and respect nature, supports the development of problem-solving skills and provides rich opportunities for their developing imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness.

Additional Lessons
Although our staff are highly trained practitioners we think it vital to add a little extra variety each week. External teachers (who come with the highest credentials and of course the most stringent of safety checks) are employed to come into the nursery and provide tuition in different areas. All of these classes will of course be of no extra charge, and will be included within your fees. A few examples are below:
Musical Hands and Sports Focus
Musical hands is a wonderful class that offers music, sign language, dancing and much, much more. It will run on a weekly basis and will last for 20-30 minutes.
And for those who prefer to use up some of their boundless energy... we have sports lessons - an opportunity for the children to try different sports each week - from football to cricket, basketball to ballet and anything in between! A true variety - having tried just football we realised the children weren't as engaged each week a little change and now they can't wait to find out what that week's activities hold.
Yoga
Please rest assured your children will not be waking you at 5am each morning to practice their newly learnt "sun salutation" - although I suppose we shouldn't guarantee that your children won't wake at 5am as ours still do!!! Our wonderful Yogi takes the children on a magical and mystical adventure - travelling through far flung lands whilst learning different moves and poses on their mats.
